So obviously this isn’t anything Astrology related, but if this giveaway goes well then the next one will be astrology related. My beautiful Leo best friend, who just started up her Etsy, agreed to make these woven bracelets. Trust me, they are fabulous and they look amazing when you wear them. 

So here’s the deal

• Six people will be chosen at random
• You may choose between the infinity symbol and the hamsa.
  
• You may have up to three colors of your choice for the band and can request it to be either thick or thin(shown in the third picture). If you don’t give a preference for the thickness of the band, i’ll end up picking for you.
• You can reblog this shit as much as you want. Likes count as well. 
• You must be following me.
• Giveaway ends September 2nd at 6:00 pm PST . The winners will be selected that evening around 8:00 pm PST
• Your ask box must be open so i can contact you, if you don’t respond within a day another person will be chosen in your place.
• Obviously i’m going to need your address so that i can mail you the beautiful thing. So if you’re not cool with that then…sorry.
• Because these are handmade don’t expect them to get to you until about a week or two after you were selected. It’ll take longer if you live outside the US.

You know what? No. No, I do not think that Dave is as beautiful as the Dave on the right. And before you social justice bloggers come stampeding into my askbox, wondering how I could be such a heartless, bitch- hear me out.

The Dave on the right isn’t beautiful. The Dave on the right does not have flawless skin, or blonde hair, or baby-blue eyes or a pair of double-d’s. What he is, however, is sick. And telling him that he’s beautiful as an attempt to comfort him? Is just plain cruel. 

You’re telling Dave that he’s only redeemable when he’s beautiful. You don’t give a damn about his illness, no. You just want to sleep at night, thinking what a great person you are for lying to a little boy. Do you think that Dave believes he is truly, in the eyes of society, beautiful? He doesn’t. And I dare someone to look me in the eyes and say he’s wrong. We all know he’s not conventionally beautiful, but we tell him otherwise, tell ourselves otherwise because we feel guilty and we think that, by “saving” this poor, ill child with false claims of beauty, we are better people because of it. 

That boy is beautiful because he is fighting. He’s beautiful because he isn’t beautiful, not in all the physical ways we obsess over. He’s beautiful because of his personality- and that is why Dave’s is a life worth living.

Not because some stranger on the internet lied, and told him he’s “beautiful”.
